MUSIC WRITERS/CONTRIBUTORS NEEDED FOR SOUTHAMPTON MAGAZINE (ONTFG01)


THE CLIENT

The client is an online student run publication offering the best news, reviews and previews for the students of Southampton and the surrounding area. Coverage includes music, entertainment, lifestyle, sport and gaming.

They offer a wide range of opportunities from reviewing gigs, theatre and festivals to writing opinion pieces about the city and capturing Southampton’s student voice.

THE BRIEF

Do you have a major interest live events like gigs and festivals?

Would you like to gain very valuable experience in contributing to an online magazine and having your work published?

We are looking for enthusiastic and committed article writers and researchers to write and contribute music news, features and reviews based on them attending music shows, doing interviews and seeing events held in Southampton and the surrounding area.

In this role, you will be fully encouraged to quickly develop very valuable skills in an online environment.

As part of this role you shall gain experience in the following:

  • Writing feature articles
  • Researching apt music related stories for the publication
  • Forwarding ideas for new content
  • Working with the senior editorial team to produce timely articles
  • Writing, editing and proofreading articles
  • Development online writing skills to produce stories fully credited to you
  • Learning about how an online publication works
