Solent Creatives are launching two new exciting full-time courses in academic year 2016: BA (Hons) Creative Enterprise Top-up, and MA Creative Enterprise. These courses are aimed at under-grad and post-grad students who are looking to top up their degree, or further their studies through a Masters Degree.
The courses focus on teaching you how to commercialise your creative skills, develop your portfolio and CV, and even start your own business.
This top-up is designed for students with skills in a range of creative areas including film, photography, journalism, advertising, graphic design, animation, illustration, CGI, fashion marketing and PR.
You will learn how to act as a freelancer by becoming a freelancer – learning by doing and gaining valuable experience along the way. The taught elements will help you to understand the value of these experiences, to reflect on successes and failures and to learn strategies for the future.
Learning about running a business, from funding to marketing, tax to intellectual property, will help you to understand how all businesses work and give you a commercial edge that will help you stand out from the crowd.
The Masters in Creative Enterprise gives students the unique opportunity to develop a creative portfolio of work from working on a range of freelance projects, and to learn how to start up their own business as part of the course. Teaching will foster enterprise and entrepreneurial skills to create graduates who will shape the creative industries of the future.
The course supports students who want to develop a creative portfolio in film, journalism, photography, advertising, marketing, public relations, graphic design, fashion and the arts. So film students, for example, will work on commercial film projects – many are paid opportunities so you could earn money whilst you earn your masters.
